A Century of Quality Seafood

Since 1914, Van Camp’s has been passionate about bringing you delicious, high-quality seafood as part of the Thai Union family. Learn about our rich history and commitment to a sustainable future.

Innovating from the Start

Our story began in 1914 when Frank Van Camp purchased the California Tuna Canning Company in San Pedro, California, renaming it Van Camp’s Sea Food Company. Building on the innovation of his father, Gilbert Van Camp, who pioneered canned goods in the 1860s, Frank established a legacy of quality and creativity that continued with his son, Gilbert Jr., who became president in 1937. Today, that same spirit drives us to craft seafood products with excellence in every can.

Protecting Our Oceans

Just as we’re dedicated to upholding our tradition of quality, we’re equally committed to protecting the resources that make it all possible. Our SeaChange® program reflects our commitment to sustainable fishing practices that ensure a thriving future for our oceans and marine life.
